Jed Riffe Films + Electronic Media (JRF+EM) is a full service film,
HD and new media production company. The firm specializes in producing
prime-time international television specials (Ishi, the Last Yahi, Who Owns the Past?) and Series (California and the American Dream Series), motion pictures (Ishi: A Feature Film) and interactive media (Public Broadcasting in Public Places) in public spaces.
JRF+EM is a collaboration of award-winning filmmaker and new media
producer N. Jed Riffe and digital guru M. Emrah Oral. Mr. Oral is a
highly regarded international digital designer, software programmer
and hardware specialist. Most recently, Mr. Oral created PETO a
multi-functional, GPS based, personal travel organizer with wireless
communications and multimedia capabilities.
JRF+EM just completed producing Public Broadcasting in Public Places bringing 160 minutes of interactive content from JRF+EM’s California and the American Dream
Series in four interactive touch screen kiosks to major museums and
other public facilities across California. Commissioned by Beyond the
Dream, LLC and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, Public
Broadcasting in Public Places was awarded “Best Interactive Visitors
Center Presentation” by the 2007 Chicago International Film Festival.
Doing business as Independent Producers Services, JRF+EM produced 86
minutes of specially edited video clips for three interactive touch
screen kiosks featured in the Oakland Museum of California’s History
exhibit. In 2000, The Corporation for Public Broadcasting selected JRF+
EM to produce a prototype for their TV of Tomorrow Digital Initiative.
